Our Core Demands
💰 Pay Parity with Other States
CS teachers in Bihar are paid significantly less than equivalent PGT/+2 CS teachers in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and other progressive states. We demand implementation of 7th CPC Pay Level 8 — the standard for PGT-equivalent posts nationwide. This is not a new demand — it is our rightful entitlement.
📋 MACP Benefits
The Modified Assured Career Progression (MACP) scheme is a legitimate government entitlement that provides financial upgrades at 10, 20, and 30 years of service. Despite being eligible, CS teachers in Bihar have not received MACP benefits properly, causing significant cumulative financial losses over careers spanning decades.
🖥️ Stop Misuse as Clerical Staff
CS teachers are appointed and trained to teach. Yet schools routinely assign CS teachers to fill government forms, manage UDISE+ databases, print documents, handle office administration and perform data-entry tasks. This is not our duty. Non-teaching administrative tasks should be distributed equally across all staff, not dumped on CS teachers because of their computer skills.
🏫 Proper Computer Lab Infrastructure
Many government +2 schools across Bihar lack functional computer labs. Outdated machines (10–15 years old), no internet connectivity, frequent power cuts with no backup, and insufficient seating make practical CS education nearly impossible. Without labs, students cannot learn the subject practically — harming their future opportunities in a digital world.
📉 Increasing CS Enrollment
Student enrollment in Computer Science at the +2 level is declining. Without active promotion of the subject by the education department, CS is becoming marginalized. We call for a Bihar-wide campaign to promote CS enrollment, making it a competitive alternative to the traditional science/commerce streams.
🎓 Professional Development
Computer Science is the fastest-evolving academic subject. Yet CS teachers receive no government-funded upskilling, curriculum refresh training, or CPD (Continuing Professional Development) programs. Annual government-sponsored training is essential to keep Bihar’s CS teachers up to date with the latest technologies and pedagogical methods.
Our Position
CSTWAB has no conflict with teachers of other subjects. We respect all our colleagues. Our advocacy is specific, fact-based, and directed at policy gaps — not against any individual or group. We seek only what is fair, legal, and already granted to CS teachers in other states.
